We went here on 9-1-12, for a lakewood blueclaws minor league baseball game, the staff was so friendly it was literally like visiting relatives, this was a new location and it was as
clean as a whistle, food portions no one could finish, food quality was outstanding, and being surrounded by plasma tv's with baseball on them how much better can it get for a fan, not one bit, now whenever we visit the team we will be stopping here, this place almost makes the 70 mile trip worthwhile ( even withouit going to a game ) great job people and keep up the good work !

Had nice delicious breakfast and got take out roast beef sandwiches for the road. Nice, friendly staff, comfortable and great food, nice menu. Used your "YELP" Deal, $10 price for $20 off coupon...manager was happy to take it. We will be back!

The Cross Mill Diner provided excellent food and service for a recent dinner party (40 people). Owners John and Sophie quickly and expertly organized everything according to our request. Guests commented they would be visiting the diner soon!

My mom lives in Lakewood and my sister and I were visiting her this weekend. She literally lives 5 minutes from Cross Mill Diner and has visited many times before, and recommended we go for breakfast. We were greeted as soon as we entered and were seated right away. I had the Belgium waffle, my sister had the eggs Benedict and my mom had the french toast. Everything was really good. Seems like the "to go" place for breakfast as it stayed busy. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Pricing is extremely reasonable. Will definitely visit again when I'm in Lakewood, and look forward to trying them for lunch or dinner.

2/5/2012 I stopped in for a lovely dinner with my husband. We brought a nice bottle of wine with us. My husband Joe said the liver was the best he ever had! I enjoyed the soup of the day, New England Clam Chowder, or Chowda as we new englanders would say (I grew up in Boston). I enjoyed every bite of my sirloin which was phenomenal. The food portions were huge, I even took home leftovers. We are regulars now!
Update - 2/7/2012
Fantastic food and great prices. I really enjoyed my visit here. The specials are always yummy. My friend Sarah recommended the place and I was convinced after the first visit that she deserves a bottle of wine. I am now a regular at the cross mill!

Amazing food, great prices. I am one picky eater and I enjoyed my pancake breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. The service was also great our waitress Caroline made conversation even though she was busy. The owner spoke to me as if we were old friends. I went back the same week for dinner. I tried one of the specials, I felt like I was dinning at a five star restaurant! The pork was tender and the pesto penne delightful! My four friends also raved about their entrees! We tried a seafood dish as well and it was fresh and superbly cooked. I recommend this dinner to anyone! classy restaurant with diner prices!

I love this place! I work twenty minutes away and come here every week for lunch. Great food! Even better prices. I recommend the cheeseburgers! I tried the deluxe and it was cooked just right! The pickles were as tasty as the quality meat and the bun was toasted just the way i like it! I always order an extra side of the french fries for my co-workers, we cant get enough of them. The service is nice too, i always feel like I am back home when im dining at the Cross Mill. The owner John is the best too!

From onion rings and a burger to the steak special topped with Gorgonzola cheese you can't beat this (my two favorites). Every soup is home made and just as good as what Mom makes. Bring a bottle of wine, sit back, relax, and enjoy. A small hidden jewel that will only get better

Good food, good service at a resonable price. Owner John makes you feel at home even when you are a stranger.

I went to visit Cross Mill Diner on two occasions. Both times I was very pleased. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Staff was friendly, polite & knowledgeable.
During both of my visits, there were many tables occupied, however, I was seated quickly and my order was taken almost immediately.
The food was quite delicious, very fresh and the prices were reasonable.
Most importantly, it was very clean. I had the opportunity to visit the restroom and it sparkled.(that's a big plus!) When in the area, I definitely will revisit it.

A DINER AT LAST (with good food and ambiance)
Ever since the Athenian Diner closed its doors some time ago, I have heard many
of our residents say, “I wish we had a good diner close by. Well my friends, your prayers have been answered.. Just 1.5 miles from our Clubhouse is the Cross Mill Diner. At the Cross Mill Plaza on Route 9 and Cross Street. “Oh no,” you say, “not that
same old moldy place that has changed hands at least a half dozen times since our
community opened.” Well, friends, the location is the same but the interior of the
Cross Mill Diner has been completely renovated. All the furniture, counter area,
flooring and bathrooms are all new. No more moldy, smelly carpeting as it has been
replaced by beautiful floor tiles. The new owners John and Sophie Xyloportas (Greek forwooden door) are a couple who understand what people want in a diner—good food,
CLEAN and pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.
We ( Joe Murphy, Bill O’Brien, Myrtle and Herb Scharre, my husband and I)
had breakfast at the Cross Mill diner following Sunday Mass. We all agreed that this
will be our Sunday breakfast spot from now on. The Cross Mill has all the usual
breakfast items. Myrtle and I especially like their sausage patties. Al and I have also
gone to the Cross Mill for lunch—I had spanakopita (spinach pie made with phyllo dough
feta cheese and other ingredients. As Rachel Ray would say, “Delish.” This was served
with a wonderful Greek salad—the usual salad fixings plus Greek olives and feta cheese.
My not so adventurous husband had a hamburger platter which he thoroughly enjoyed.
The Scharres and the Ierubinos also had dinner at the Cross Mill Diner. For some reason we all ordered the exact same meal—Avgolemono (Greek egg- lemon
chicken soup, yummy) pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy and mixed vegetables. For
dessert we had rice pudding. What’s not to like! The portions are more than ample—
we left with a doggie bag. We are looking forward to returning so that we can sample
every item on the Senior Menu. which is served all day long as well as the regular menu..
The Senior menu comes with a beverage, soup or salad and house desert. Prices range
From $8.95 to $10.99. The regular menu features charcoal broiled: sirloin steak, pork
chops, and chicken; also broiled or fried seafood, chicken sautés, seafood sautés,
parmigiana chicken, shrimp or eggplant. Prices range from $11.99 to $15.99. All the
above are served with soup or salad, dinner rolls, potatoe and vegetable.
John's children, Mia, Marci and Teddy are also helpful in the diner. I am looking forward to seeing all of John’s plans come to fruition.
We wish the Xyloportas family good luck and good fortune in their new venture.
